Donors and community members gather alongside local politicians, business and media professionals, and celebrities each year to observe the fast-paced competition of the Johnny Ray Memorial Pro Wall Ball Tournament. Since 2015 personalities from Brooklyn and the Bronx, have been smashing the ball to the wall at MatchPoint NYC for the event. According to Dmitry Druzhinsky, the cross-town rivalry is led by Brooklyn Borough President Eric Adams and Bronx Borough President Ruben Diaz Jr. to engage inner-city and under-served youth in active sport, and also benefits the U.S. Wall Ball Association’s initiatives supporting education, anti-violence and anti-obesity. The tournament celebrates the life of Jonathan Ray, the late brother of the USWA CEO, and inspiration for the creation of the association, and originally started in 2012. Dmitry is proud to welcome organizations and promote a healthy lifestyle through his work.
